Single Review

Wet Dog
Alibi

The all female London trio have been working hard over the last couple of years honing their live set and unique loose low-fi DIY sound. Over the months they’ve supported Good Shoes, Pete and the Pirates, Subway Sect, The Gossip, and the Long Blondes. It’s now nearing the time for them to elevate their status with debut album, Enterprise Reversal, due for release on 21 July. Alibi is its first single release, and in Wet Dog style it has a home made feel, and a refreshingly proper punk attitude, all spiky, sparse and raw. Rivka Gillieron’s simple guitar riff and muffled vocals are hypnotically ramshackle and held together by Sarah Datblygu's metronomic-like back beat. They’re doing it in their own unmistakable style and cocking a musical leg up to the formulaic scene. I dig their spirit.
