The Pigeon Detectives
Everybody Wants Me
'Everybody Wants Me’ isn’t the explosive no-nonsense indie that The Pigeon Detective’s usually provide. The second release off of their new album 'Emergency’ tries to show the softer side of these Leeds lads, but doesn’t quite deliver. Credit where credit’s due, the catchy guitar riffs and northern swagger are still there, but it lacks the brash testosterone we all know and love. The result is a hollow sounding three minutes of average indie pop by a band suffering from second album syndrome.
Either some of the creativity has dried up or Matt Bowman and co are trying to show they can do something different. I hope it’s the latter.
If that is the case, it’s a 'nice’ attempt at a love song. But honestly, stick to what you do best guys, because you do it well.
